Construction start planned for October
LANCASTER -- Just as most people thought the discussion of Pearl House had ended, it has come back to the city and the Fairfield County commissioners.
Both have an opportunity to file an objection to the plan with the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, which approved tax credits for the Pearl House project in April. Once credits are approved, the developer must submit final plans, which then are up for approval by the agency later this year, said Sean Thomas, director of the office of planning, preservation and development with OHFA.

Panel would investigate safety issues
NEWARK — Concerns about the long-term effect of hydraulic fracturing moved the Licking County Commissioners toward creation of an ad hoc committee to study potential safety issues.
The many questions about the process to remove oil and gas from deep underground need to be answered as soon as possible as the industry develops quickly in Ohio, the commissioners said Thursday.
