Welcome to our new website.  It’s new, but our commitment to this community is not.  In fact, we think the role of citizen involvement in local governance, especially that of zoning, is even more vital today than before.

The political and economic landscape of America has changed radically, not just for us but for the entire nation and even the rest of the world.  All of us are reeling from the disastrous consequences of political and financial bungling on a massive scale that had its roots in poor land use, speculative over development, and subprime mortgage lending.  The real estate collapse brought on by the mismanagement of America’s land has robbed millions of Americans by cheapening their home values.

We may be powerless against economic malfeasance on the global level, but there is much we can, and must, do here locally to guard against unwise zoning changes that will further erode our quality of life, perhaps at the very time we start to recover from the current economic malaise.  We must do all that we can to assist our township’s leaders in their decision making so that the damage done from afar is not compounded by misguided actions here in our own backyard.

ORRD will continue to bring news and insights to the community on issues of Liberty’s administration, land use and other important issues so that you can be better informed, and better prepared, to make your voices heard .  As we have done over the years, we invite all of you to join us and participate in the shaping of our little world here Liberty Township.
