Buckeye Lake Beacon By Charles Prince BALTIMORE - Five village administrator candidates have been interviewed out of approximately 20 applications. Four candidates were interviewed last Saturday, Mayor Robert Kalish told The Beacon Monday night. One candidate was to be interviewed Wednesday. Kalish and council members are pleased with the quality of the candidates seeking to replace Marsha Hall, who resigned late last month to become Groveport's city manager. The administrator position will continue to be full-time, Kalish said, combining administrative and zoning duties. The administrator's salary will continue to be paid out of the water and sewer funds, the village's general fund and with zoning fees. In a short business session Monday night, council members unanimously agreed to lease two used police cruisers with an option to buy for four annual payments of $6,586. Police Chief Michael Tussey said two of the village's cruisers are out-ofservice and not worth repairing. The new-to-Baltimore cruisers are coming from New Jersey and were purchased by Police Cruisers Ltd., a firm specializing in low mileage used cruisers. Both are Ford Crown Victoria's which means the village can save about $4,000 per cruiser by reusing equipment from the Crown Victoria's being retired. Ford is no longer making Crown Victoria's, but parts will be available for years. Read the full story on the Buckeye Lake Beacon website. |
